?After twenty years in the field of Da’wah and Islamic Guidance, I have come to the conclusion that our success in Islam in theses confusing times is based on purifying our relationship with Almighty Allah and changing our un-Islamic ideas, habits and cultural baggage.Reviewing my Friday Khutbahs over the past two decades, I found a number of Ahaadeeth constantly repeating themselves in the solutions to the problems that the Muslim community was facing. So, when I was approached, some time ago, to put together a collection of Ahaadeeth which were authentic and which would be most effective in bringing about a revival of Islam within ourselves and our communities, my response was this book. |
The following booklet is a text transcribed from the khutbah delivered by Shaykh Abdullah Hakim Quick on Eid-ul-Fitr, 1421 A.H. at Masjid-ul-Quds in Gatesville (Cape Town), South Africa.Nearly five thousand people were in attendance. The impact of this speech was so powerful that an initiative was made to produce audio copies and to make the message available in print. Muslims today, are in need of clear self-analysis and practical steps toward reconstruction. This humble presentation represents one voice among the thousands that are crying for self-analysis, internal change, unity and a realistic approach to current problems. |

The following booklet is the written text from a series of lectures delivered by Shaykh Abdullah at Islamic schools throughout South Africa in 1421 A.H. Islamic education is at a critical juncture, in that the physical structures have been rented or built but the real work has yet to be done. Islam needs strong, disciplined, pious youth. Slogans and Islamic buildings are not enough.Islamic education is in need of wise, sensitive principals and dedicated, inspired teachers. If Muslim children are sheltered from the world and then thrown back into society without adequate preparation, they will be worse off than those who were never exposed to Islamic schools at all. Islamic revival should reach beyond the Masjid and enter the lives of our children, their parents and their teachers. May Allah (SWT) inspire the next generation to purify the Muslim world and take Islam to the four corners of the earth. |
Revealing the truth about Christmans, New Year’s Eve, St. Valentine’s Day Easter and HalloweenIntroduction This study is intended to provide clear information about religious-based, cultural events that have been accepted as “national” celebrations, but are really peculiar to specific belief systems. The world has undoubtedly become a global village where the influence of people on each other is profound. Events that occur in a village in India or near the Great Wall of China can be beamed into the homes of people in America and Africa. It is, therefore, critical for Muslims and people of conscience to have insight and knowledge of religious history and culture, so that they are able to analyse dominant cultural trends and put them into the proper perspective. Deeper Roots is what that other book promised to be but never was. Rather than an incapacitating and sentimental Christian tracing of ethnicity, the author reconnects the African American and his Caribbean brothers and sisters to the dynamic West-African cultural expression of the universal way of Islam.Heyerdahl’s Ra I, built by African boatmen from Lake Chad. It sailed from North Africa in 1969 for Barbados. It proved the feasibility of using such a boat for an Africa to America journey. |
This book is a timely translation of the famous discourse An-Naseehatul-Kaafiya by Shaykh Ahmad Zarrooq (846-899 A.H.) of Fez. It is a penetrating work on self-analysis and reconstruction which lays the groundwork for Islamic revival through internal change. The presentation of this topic is the fifth part of the “Islamic Revival” series. |
